A richly decorated vintage Hutschenreuther Selb porcelain plate in the Favorit form, combining colorful fruit and grape decoration with an unusually lavish gold-encrusted border. At approximately 6 inches across, this small bread-and-butter/dessert plate has far more visual impact than a typical replacement-china piece: clusters of purple and red grapes, green vines and delicate floral accents circle the inner border, while the wide outer band is covered in intricate gilt ornament.
The underside is clearly marked “Hutschenreuther Selb / Bavaria / Favorit,” establishing the manufacturer and form. Favorit was model 660, designed for Lorenz Hutschenreuther by Rudolf Lunghard and introduced in 1951. Porzellanikon’s Hutschenreuther factory documentation dates regular production of the form approximately 1951–1958, placing this piece firmly in the mid-century period.
The elaborate decoration also closely corresponds to the Hutschenreuther Favorit “Gold Encrusted Fruits” group cataloged by Replacements as HUT307.
