A matched six-piece group of original late-1960s American Tack & Hardware decorative electrical wall plates, featuring an elaborate raised floral-and-scroll design and the heavily aged brass-tone finish that gives these pieces their unmistakable vintage character.
This lot contains FIVE duplex electrical outlet covers and ONE single-toggle light-switch cover — SIX wall plates total. The surviving back markings identify this American Tack & Hardware floral pattern with the 75D duplex-outlet and 75T single-toggle configurations, dating from the 1967–1968 period.
Rather than the plain stamped wall plates commonly used today, these are substantial decorative cast-metal covers with deeply raised flowers, leaves, scrollwork and textured backgrounds. They were designed to make otherwise utilitarian switches and receptacles part of a room's décor, and the ornate design works particularly well today in vintage, eclectic, maximalist, French Provincial-inspired or Hollywood Regency-inspired interiors.
Included in this lot
5 matching duplex outlet/receptacle wall plates
1 matching single-toggle light-switch wall plate
6 pieces total
American Tack & Hardware Co.
75D / 75T floral-pattern family
Late-1960s manufacture
Ornate raised floral and scroll decoration
Brass/gold-tone finished cast metal
Matching design across all six pieces
Having five matching outlet covers together is particularly useful for someone restoring or decorating an entire room. Vintage architectural hardware can be frustrating to match one plate at a time, so this group offers enough matching receptacle covers to create a cohesive installation while retaining an original period appearance.
