Antique O&EG Royal Austria porcelain plate produced by Oscar & Edgar Gutherz at Altrohlau in the historic Bohemian porcelain-making region of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The underside carries the genuine green O&EG “ROYAL AUSTRIA” wreath backstamp used by the Gutherz factory around the turn of the 20th century through the World War I era.

The saucer has a beautifully molded scalloped form with raised ornamental detailing, a delicate garland of pink roses and tiny blue/lavender blossoms, and fine gilt accents around the edge and center. The combination of romantic floral decoration and ornate molded porcelain gives it considerably more character than a plain antique saucer and makes it an attractive display piece as well as a collectible example of pre-World War I Austrian/Bohemian porcelain.

O&EG refers to brothers Oscar and Edgar Gutherz. Published references date the Royal Austria wreath mark approximately to the 1897/1898–1918 period; because surviving references vary slightly on the introductory year, this piece is conservatively described as circa 1900–1918 rather than assigning it an unsupported exact production year.
